The Humaneity Foundation has joined forces with two other NGOs to build a new library at the Aknuwat Primary School in Kampong Thom, Cambodia. This activity falls under the Humaneity Foundations Engagement Pillar.
Room to Read and SIPAR are both well established NGOs working in Cambodia. By joining forces the Humaneity Foundation, Room to Read and SIPAR share core competences as well as finances. This approach allows for the three NGOs to complete a project faster, in a more structured manner with less financial exposure.
Together all three NGO's are committed to the sustainability aspect of the project by recruitment of local librarians who will be trained by SIPAR.
The Humaneity Foundation and Room to Read will be responsible for the construction of the library building which will be 20 meters x 9 meters. Large enough to provide full library services to the 1000 school children.
The library will be opened in March 2010. If you would like to support the library project in any way you can write to us at
